Sunlight through a golden autumn forest

We buy great businesses from the owners who built them.

Recharge Venture Group is a private investment firm acquiring one exceptional, people-first business from an owner ready for their next chapter — then stewarding it for the long term.

Most buyers see a line item. We see decades of early mornings, hard calls, and a team that counts on what you built.

Recharge exists to give one great business a permanent home. We're not a fund with a clock — no five-year flip, no strip-and-sell playbook.

We buy from owners who want their company, culture, and people to outlast them, and we run it that way: hands-on, long-term, people first.

What we look for in a business

Every company is different, but five characteristics reliably separate businesses built to last from businesses built to sell. These are ours.

  • People first

People are the backbone of any company. They're our primary concern from first conversation through closing and the ownership transition that follows.

  • Transparent culture

Culture is living and breathing — and it belongs to the team, not the org chart. You can evolve a culture, but never without the buy-in of the people already there.

  • Customer obsession

Great companies start with the customer and work backwards, earning trust order by order. Watching competitors is fine; serving customers is the job.

  • Consistent execution

Front of house to back office — communication, service, supply chain, finance, HR — the businesses that win are the ones that deliver every single day.

  • A durable edge

Product quality, hard-won relationships, the people behind the counter — what matters is that something specific and defensible sets the company apart.

A turquoise alpine lake beneath mountains

“The products or services that have wide, sustainable moats around them are the ones that deliver rewards to investors.”

— Warren Buffett

What we bring to the table

Sellers aren't just choosing a price — they're choosing who carries their life's work forward. Here's what your team gets in us.

A working session around a wooden table, notebooks out

Deep operating experience

Years running large, complex operations across logistics, healthcare, and real estate — including P&L leadership at Fortune 500 scale. We've done the work, not just modeled it.

Empathic leadership

Employees aren't cogs in a machine. We get to know every person — what they contribute, and who they are — because that's how trust and retention are actually built.

Respect for technology, and for know-how

We modernize inefficient systems so people can focus on what they do best. Technology serves the team's ingrained knowledge — it never replaces it.

A growth mindset

Anything can be learned with enough concentration and diligence. We approach every business humble about what we don't know and relentless about closing the gap.

Flexible capital

We work with committed capital partners to build customized structures — so the deal fits the owner's goals, timeline, and tax picture, not a fund's template.

What we look for in an acquisition

We're industry-agnostic with a bias toward essential, recession-resilient services. If your company fits the profile below, we'd like to meet you.

$3–20MAnnual revenue
$0.5–3MAnnual EBITDA
15%+Operating margins

The owner we're looking for

  • An owner-operator ready to step back from the day-to-day

Industries that have our attention

  • LogisticsServices that move goods from origin to consumption — the connective tissue of commerce.
  • Distribution & wholesaleEssential goods that sell in any market: MRO, durables, and specialty items that aren't easily sourced.
  • Business servicesThe support work every company needs — administration, staffing, security, facilities, waste.
  • Water managementFiltration, distillation, transport, and services to municipal and private water systems.
  • Non-medical home careIn-home lifestyle assistance and companionship for the elderly and disabled.

Who you're dealing with

Wiley Strahan · Founder & CEO

Wiley grew up in a household supported by a small business — so he knows a company of any size is a family affair, and treats acquiring one the same way. Without trust on both sides, no transaction is worth doing.

He founded Recharge in 2020 to buy one great business from an exceptional owner. He brings fifteen years of finance and operations leadership: managing teams at McMaster-Carr, running financial analytics and capital-markets work at DaVita, and leading Maersk's North America last-mile heavy & bulky business — a $500M+ P&L. Today he's at Weber, leading M&A and technology integration as the logistics platform acquires and integrates operating companies — buying and integrating businesses is his day job, not a side interest.

Separately, he co-founded The SB Investment Group, a Southern California multifamily real-estate investment firm, and is an active investor in early-stage operating tools through several investment communities. He holds an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from USC's Marshall School of Business.
